ELDON LADIES 2015 - 2016

SEASON REVIEW

Eldon Ladies 2015-2016 season got off to a shaky start with defeats against Concordia and Tynemouth. Although new recruit Jo Thornton was flying, winning 3 of her 4 matches in the first half 3-0, not bad for someone who had never played team squash before!

A convincing 20-4 win away at Newcastle University including well fought 3-2 wins for Shef Popat & Jen Hewett was followed by a narrow 3-2 defeat against Hexham, who were new to the league this season.

The second half of the season started well with a 15-8 win against Concordia including an excellent win for Jennifer Lumley and a dominant display from Katy Stockwell. A win against Newcastle University followed, with a solid 3-0 win from new player Kat Beeson.

After this a run of tough fixtures against Northern, Tynemouth and Hexham lead to three defeats on the bounce and exit from the cup at the hands of a much improved Hexham side. Thanks to Tasha for travelling straight from Leeds to play against Tynemouth who was really unlucky to lose 15-13 in the 5th in a high quality match.

Eldon Ladies finished the season fourth in Ladies Division 2.
