ELDON 1ST  2015 - 2016

SEASON REVIEW

Our 2015/16 crusade plumbing the murky depths of Division 2 began in a somewhat contentious fashion, due to a new team selection and order. Early team morale appeared to be affected, as the lads got off to shaky starts taking some painful batterings at Primrose and Westoe.

Eventually the team found some timely form toward the back end of the first half - winning 5 on the bounce, storming up the charts and looking a safe bet for promotion.

Of course at this point, our finely tuned athletes (Martin and Will that is) started picking up knocks, so Milo, Mark M and Fran were drafted up and did not disappoint.

A pivotal win against those pesky kids (and division winners) Northumberland Juniors, secured promotion and cheesy grins all round.

Season Highlights

Season's highlights were that win above, a strong cup run (making it to the semis) and Curry /raspberry drambuies on a team night out at a must-not-be-named location south of the water.

Player of the Season

Everyone's stats were fairly similar with even win/loss ratios, but player of season would go to Mark S, for general solidity and looking comfortable at no.3 despite no previous experience at that level.
